Internships
Extracurricular Internships
Students’ extracurricular internships are managed through the Centro de Orientación e Información de Empleo (C.O.I.E.). The School of Industrial, Computer and Aerospace Engineering encourages these internships by helping to promote them among students and companies.
Around the month of May, the management organizes an informative talk with the purpose of informing interested students about the different procedures to follow in order to carry out the internship in a company.
Throughout the academic year, EIIIA publishes internship offers from different companies, but it is in June, July and August when the offer for summer internships increases considerably.
The extracurricular internships can be carried out by STUDENTS who have passed 50% of the ECTS of their study plan. They can be PERFORMED during the entire academic year in which the student is enrolled from October 1 through September 30.
The MAXIMUM DURATION is 750 hours per academic year . No more than 900 hours of internships may be performed in the same entity.
They may not be carried out simultaneously with extracurricular and curricular internships.
ATTENTION: Important information for internships as of January 1, 2024
As of January 1, students who undertake unpaid internships in companies must be managed through the
FGULEM PLATFORM
platform for their registration with the Social Security.
It is essential that students have their own Social Security number and it is their responsibility to carry out this procedure.
FGULEM has created a guide, available here, which details the steps to follow in this process.
